1.
False Start 04:40
[from the original cassette liner notes]: Somethings end which were never begun. A no win/no loss situation is just like a handshake: a nice gesture, of no real significance. Always worth the experience.
2.
[from the original cassette liner notes]: Improbable balance: any body can collapse if the circulation is suddenly cut off. It is usually the weakest limb that ends up supporting the entire system.
3.
[from the original cassette liner notes]: A heartbeat is just a nervous tick, like any other. Whether you like it or not is simply a matter of how important you make it out to be, but it happens nonetheless.
4.
[from the original cassette liner notes]: A live wire makes a rather indelicate tightrope. Stretching things only makes them harder to hold on to. A whirling dervish on the head of a pin understands what no one else can imagine.
5.
[from the original cassette liner notes]: The only purpose pain ever serves is to let you know when you have had enough. Suffering helps you appreciate the point at which it has passed, but it is never the other way around.
6.
[from the original cassette liner notes]: Too many people believe that one day you just open your eyes and here you are. This completely overlooks an incredible metamorphosis which in fact never stops until the day you die. If more details were paid attention to, a lot of people might discover that they have pretty interesting lives after all.
7.
[from the original liner notes]: Ever wonder why we allow some sensations to linger, while totally ignoring others which are basically the same? Trying desperately to recapture the last fading moments of a dream, long past the point of telling yourself to wake up.
8.
[from the original liner notes]: Pushing and pulling are pretty much the entire spectrum of human behavioral traits, from intimacy to war. Not so much giving or taking away, just keeping alive a certain kind of tension.

about

Easy listening for people with difficult tastes.

Originally released in 1988, "Don't Give It Another Thought" was the first in a series of three limited edition cassette albums, of experimental, lo-fi, instrumental guitar compositions.

All tracks were recorded between 1987-88, utilizing a process which involved recording initial tracks on a home stereo cassette deck, then playing the signal through a small Radio Shack 4-channel potentiometer [#33-920] into a second deck, while simultaneously adding additional live accompaniment. DIY karaoke, if you will.

[from the original cassette liner notes]:
This tape may sound a bit distorted, but so does a lot of peoples' reality.
Turn it down if it's too loud, listen if you're having trouble hearing.

[post-millennial technical errata]:
Azimuth-optimized analog-digital transfer [24-bit/96kHz sample rate] from master cassette [which was itself, essentially, a 1st/2nd-gen dub of the original individual tracks]; tracks split in CDWav editor; stereo adjustments processed with SoundForge.

There is tape hiss present; pitch is subjective to the dying motors of the tape decks which were employed in the original recording and dubbing process.
